Job Description

As a growing small marketing agency, Yield’s team of skilled creators is currently sharing responsibilities across multiple disciplines.

This results in ad performance and customer journey work becoming a split priority and excessive skilled time from other roles is sunk into producing & managing our clients ad accounts.

This new role inside Yield Marketing will increase the quality of what we deliver, add capacity across our team and make the performance side of our projects just as tailored as the rest of our creative.

Company Overview

Yield Marketing is one of New Zealand’s only marketing agencies that focuses purely on supporting agriculture-based businesses that serve farmers of all kinds. This niche focus enables the Yield team to understand our clients’ customers on a deeper level.

We're looking for an in-house Performance Marketer to make sure every one of our retainer clients always has great ads running. Ads that are on brand, built around what the client actually needs, and driving real results.

What you'll be doing

  • Planning, building and managing Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns across multiple client brands, including budget pacing and spend, so nobody's ads ever go quiet.
  • Writing copy that matches each stage of the customer journey, structured so the right information lands with the right person.
  • Helping shape website strategy so the traffic we send has somewhere good to land, working alongside our Content Creator and Graphic Design/Web Developer on website projects.
  • Reading the data, working out what is and isn't performing, and making changes quickly, backed by solid conversion tracking (Meta Pixel, GA4, Google Ads) so the numbers can be trusted.
  • Setting up reporting dashboards in Google Analytics and Data Studio so clients can see what's working.
  • Running creative and audience tests to keep improving results and staying on top of platform and algorithm changes as they happen.
  • Coming along to client meetings, spotting new opportunities through competitor and market scanning, and bringing fresh strategies and ways of communicating to the table.
  • Digging into platform data and video retention graphs to give our video and content team insights for future productions.

Who you'll work with

You'll report directly to Josh Herbes, our founder and Account Manager, and work day to day alongside our Graphic Designer and Web Developer, our Head of Photography and Video, and our Content Creator.

What you'll bring

  • Solid, hands-on experience in performance marketing, at an intermediate level or above.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Ads, Meta Ads, YouTube and Media Buying.
  • Confidence with analytics, reporting and turning numbers into clear decisions.
  • Proven copywriting skills, especially structured, conversion-focused copy.
  • A strategic mind and the confidence to work directly with clients.
  • The ability to juggle multiple brands at once without anything slipping.
  • Ability to brief and work closely with creative and content teams.
  • Comfort with fast-paced, multi-client agency environments.

Nice to have

  • Canva skills, so you can jump in and make your own ads when our designer is flat out on a big website build.
  • Experience reading video performance data and retention graphs.
  • An interest in NZ agriculture and the people who work in it.

Housekeeping:

Time tracking: is conducted and critical to ensure our projects are delivered inside scope. Each team member is expected to track all of their time to the appropriate project and time tracked is also used for payroll.

Team meetings: are conducted each morning at 8am which everyone participates in. Meetings are roughly 30 minutes long and open the opportunity to plan our day ahead and work through any roadblocks we may have.

Working location: is 127 Alexandra Street, Hamilton Central. Everyone is expected to be at work from 8am – 5pm unless they are scheduled to be on farm at a time outside of this. Due to the collaborative nature of this role working from home is not an option.

From 12pm – 1pm this is our standard daily unpaid lunchbreak which is compulsory.

From 1pm – 2pm, if you go to the gym during lunch you will be paid for this time.

Two 15-minute breaks can be taken throughout the day at the employee’s discretion as long as it isn’t conflicting with meetings or responsibilities. Often we will stop for a coffee.
